UK construction sector grows at a steady pace

A survey released by Markit Economics and the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply, showed that Britain’s construction sector expanded at a steady pace in the month of March.

UK construction purchasing manager’s index stood at 54.2% last month, including an increase in commercial work and engineering activity.  The figure marked the 35th consecutive month of expansion.

The Markit Economics and the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply survey stated that “More than half of UK construction companies expect business activity to rise even further over the next 12 months”.
