FAQs
So many questions, so little time. This is a selection of the kind of questions that people are asking us at the moment:
What is CompeteFor? CompeteFor is the chosen site of London 2012 for the publication of Games-related contracts, and acts as a brokerage service – an electronic ‘dating agency’ for businesses – between potential suppliers and buyers in the London 2012 supply chain. All Olympic Development Agency (ODA) and London Organising Committee the Olympic Games (LOCOG) contracts are advertised on CompeteFor, which is the only procurement portal endorsed by the London 2012.
What happens if I am shortlisted and I need some help putting a tender together? We can work with you on your tender regardless of size or value. Because not all clients require the same amount of assistance our tender services range from a one-off consultancy session or critiquing your tender documentation through to providing you with a full tender service. These services are costed separately from your yearly membership because sometimes clients are happy to get on with it from the shortlisting phase.
What if I don’t win anything? It’s a question that people often ask. And the reality is you might not win, but if you’re not in it you definitely won’t win it. Of course we want you to have the greatest chances of winning so we do a few things first. Before we sign you up we will have brief chat about your business and your industry. We will conduct a search for you and look at the kinds of opportunities that exist for you, we can even see if your competitors are applying. Once you are satisfied that there are business changing contracts out there for you we will welcome you onboard. However, here’s our promise to you: If you are not submitted for any opportunities during your membership we will reimburse you with 20% of your fee.
